I know your out there…

So, as some of you know (& some of you don’t) I am super new to this whole blogging world. New as in, I still watch my stats and I still answer every comment made and I still press that little “Publish” button before I entirely edit.  I still can not figure out how to make it look exactly the way I want. I still don’t have a button and my twitter page shares with my personal one. Oh well. And, I still feel the need to come up with blog post ideas daily. Well, almost daily. When I first started this blog it was a lot harder after my first two novel length posts to come up with something new, but now that Germany is creeping up out of no where on me, and my nerves are soaring through the roof, its getting easier and easier to find things to blog about and I hope that this post gets me some awesome results! Stats, Stats, Stats. Just kidding (kind of).

So far, there are two things that I have noticed about blogging. Well, three. One.. Blogger bullying. It seriously exists. If you post a post even somewhat similar to another bloggers post (Say, two lines) they freak. And I mean really freak. They will bash you via twitter and tell all their little bloggy friends. I am new to this, please remember so maybe this is just one instance and I was the lucky one to stumble on it, but hey, it happened. Anyways, two and three are the goodies. I’ve noticed that pretty much everyone else in the blogging world is super awesome and everyone wants to be friends. Alex, from ifandsandbutts was my first blog friend and she has linked me up to other blogs and helps me with stupid questions all the time. She is also in Germany and hopefully I will meet her soon enough.

Last but not least, I have noticed that the blogging world is HUGE and a lot more people frequent it than I ever imagined before I started my new found addiction. There are blogs about literally everything. Blogs about people. Blogs about places. Blogs about funny things. Blogs about dogs. Blogs from an old lady’s perspective of the teenage life. It all exists & this last little tidbit is what brought me to this post.

Yesterday, I got an email from another AuPair that will be just right around the corner from Taylor and I. (In case I haven’t mentioned, Taylor is my host family’s friends aupair and she will be just down the road. A friend, a close friend, YAY!) Anyways, Stacie somehow stumbled upon my blog and hit that little nifty Contact Me button and whatya know, she is also going to be close enough for some comfort. I was so excited, seriously, it made my day because I know having friends over the big ‘ol pond is going to be so important in this journey.

“Friends, you and me… you brought another friend… and then there were three… we started our group… our circle of friends… and like that circle… there is no beginning or end.”

When I get to Germany, I hope to make friends. I hope to make more than a few friends. I am a super fun loving person and I love other people. (Well, most of the time. Times when they are not blogging bullies especially.) I know there are  some awesome people living abroad and I think this blog has the ability to help me get in contact with them.

So, for the first time I am going to ask something of YOU. If you know someone that is awesome like me, will be in Germany (or surrounding areas), is an Expat, is an American, is a German, is or was a fellow aupair, just lives in Germany, is a super cute German boy, or is travelling to Germany (keep in mind I will be near Munich, and would love to find these people the most!), or is just someone that is awesome and I should follow them, I would LOVE to hear from them. So, if that is you, leave a comment or Contact Me. Even if its not you, send me their link. You, or they, have nothing to lose. This world is a big place, with so many awesome people, and I hope to meet them all.

“There’s a big world out there. Bigger than prom, bigger than high school, and it won’t matter if you were the prom queen or the quarterback of the football team or the biggest nerd. Find out who you are and try not to be afraid of it.”

Awww…love that you have linked up with Ifandsandbutts…she got a really cute blog and seems super fun! Make sure you give us the “I’ve Arrived in Germany” post so we can all give you a virtual “high-five”! :D

Confession time… I’ve been blogging since 2008 and I STILL check my stats! I like the search terms best, but I hardly ever get interesting ones any more.

I read a few ex-pat in Germany blogs, but none are near Munich, unfortunately (I’m not either).

Ifs, ands and Butts you already know, but you can check out KulturSchock: http://tinaingermany.blogspot.de/ Tina is an American in Göttingen and she is FUNNY!
Sam of Wie sagt man…? (http://wiesagtman.wordpress.com/) is an American who moved to Bielefeld with her husband.
Working Berlin mum (http://workingberlinmum.blogspot.de/) is what it says on the tin… a mum in Berlin. What the title doesn’t say is that she’s English, so also an ex pat.

I think everyone is guilty of watching their stats :) But you will start caring about them less and less when you realize the relationships with people you form and people oyu meet through your blog :)

I keep a notes section in my phone when I think of random blog ideas and then use them for inspiration when I don’t have an idea for a day. My big problem is I get so wrapped up in reading everyone’s blogs, that I forget to write on my sometimes :). Oh, and I still have my Twitter account linked to my blog – I think it’s good in ways, it keeps it personal. I like it being me, a real person that I’m trying to brand, not two separate entities. It can work both ways, so figure out what you’re going for. Will you want this blog beyond Germany, etc.

Gosh, I swear you have the best advice. haha I’d like to think that if I keep at this blogging thing and I really like it, I would want to continue. What will I ever write about once I am back to the States? As much as I am counting down the days to leave… I do love this place and will be sad to see it go…. for a little while! haha
